We have our own kitchens at the Hospice, so all food is freshly prepared and cooked every day. Consequently,
we are able to offer a wide choice of meals and snacks to our patients and cater for individual requirements.
Our cooks talk to each in-patient and day patient to discuss the menu with them. Meals are also available for
visitors. The kitchen is staffed from 7am until 6pm, and every effort is made to ensure that there is food
available - usually sandwiches and salad - ‘out of hours’. We also have our own dedicated team of housekeepers,
ensuring a very high standard of cleanliness throughout.
Hospice Bereavement Service:
We believe that caring for dying people includes caring for the carers or relatives and friends, and so we offer
a bereavement service for those who may need our support. We offer individual support in person or on the
telephone, and also hold bereavement support groups. We hold a commemoration service where the bereaved have an
opportunity to light candles in memory of the person who has died.
The aim of the hospice is to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients and their carers.
The Chaplaincy team are here to care by offering friendship, a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, counselling
and prayer, whichever is most appropriate for the individual. The chaplains are available to everyone, of any faith,
or of none.
